My name is Dimitris Konstantinidis and I’m from Greece.
How long have you been taking pictures?
I’ve been taking pictures for 5 years.
When did you get into photography and why?
I get into photography by an aquarium hobby, I just want to shoot my fish sharp and detailed
so I can post them into groups for aquariums.
What would you say your style is and has it changed throughout the years? If so why?
My style hasn’t changed enough throughout years, I think it’s just improved a bit, natural portraits with complementary colours.
How do you approach a shoot? Do you pre plan, or is it a click and run?
I never have a plan I click and run. I only try to pick a places with not many things in the background.
Is there an end goal you’re trying to achieve with your images, be it an aesthetic or story?
I don’t have any goals, I shoot for fun and I want my images to be authentic mostly.
Do you have any influences you can share?
In the begging of my photography journey I watch a lot of Dani’s Diamond photography, Ivan Gorokov and Elena Shumilova.
What inspires you?
A pretty face.
Is there such a thing as a bad photograph?
Bad photography for me, is nude photography without an artistic approach.
Are you looking for a career in photography or are you just having fun?
Just for fun.
Which social media platforms do you use and why?
I use Facebook, Instagram and 500px, Facebook: because everyone has it, Instagram: because it is a showcase for photographers and 500px: because I can keep an album in high quality and share it with other photographers.
Which photographers do you mainly follow on social media?
Dani Diamond, Ivan Gorokov, Marco Tribastone and Andreas Reiter. They are very good
What are your thoughts on mobile photography versus DSLR / mirrorless?
Mobile photography is only for selfies...
DSLR is High resolution photos that you can edit and change everything. I never had the change to use mirrorless so I don’t have any opinion.
What’s your main go to camera, lenses and how did you make that choice?
My main camera is Nikon D750. I use 50mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.8 lenses. I’m shooting portraits so I want blurry background.
What is your dream location to shoot at?
I like nature a lot, so maybe rivers with big rocks, or beaches at the summer.
Describe your favourite picture and how you captured it?
My favourite picture was in an old train station. I was on the way to my parents town, I stopped for rest in the road and I saw this beautiful place and I start to shoot..
In three words how would you describe your photography?
Less is more.
How do you feel about better quality cameras being put into smart phones?
Better quality cameras into smartphones is only for selling phones.
What are your thoughts on expensive cameras? Do you think they create better images?
With better quality cameras you have more information, so you can edit the picture better. You have better results in low light situation, a better focus.
