My name is Christian Luna Manso, I’m from Puerto Rico, Carolina.
How long have you been taking pictures?
I started taking photos in 2015 & in 2016 I got my first camera the 5D mark ii + 50mm 1.8 Canon.
When did you get into photography and why?
My love for photography began when my friend ask me to help him in a studio photoshoot setting it up when he was finishing with the shooting I ask him if I cool take some photos to see how it feel to take photos of people & then it happen with the first click hearing the shutter sound I couldn’t stop taking photos.
What would you say your style is and has it changed throughout the years?If so why?
I started taking portraits & over the 2 years that have past I got into fashion, lifestyle & nature photography & I love everything about it, so my photography have changed a lot.
How do you approach a shoot ? Do you pre-plan or is it a click and run?
Well I search for inspiration from photographers that inspire me, then I search for a model that fit the mood for that exact idea I have & then the location, from there then I improvise.
Is there an end goal you’re trying to achieve with your images, be it an aesthetic or story?
I just want to build a story with my photos, I want to make people feel something be inspired by them, that images can be aesthetic and can tell a story..
Do you have an influences you can share?
Yes there’s a lot of them but the most that influence me are Cvatik, Alessio Albi & Marat Safin because there photos are so beautiful, natural & authentic to the soul.
What inspires you?
To tell you the truth I get inspired by my feelings I know that’s kinda hard to believe but whenever I get happy or sad my inspiration will always be the motivation to create my photos.
Is there such a thing as a bad photograph?
I really think there is no such thing like bad photography, maybe some people will not always like some of the photos or they such don’t have the same eyes to see or appreciated the photo. But all photograph are different and unique, with different aspects and perspective.
Are you looking for a career in photography or are you just having fun?
My dream would be to travel the world, explore different places and have the opportunity to meet different creative people, to take pictures with amazing models around the world because I’m already living my dream job now is to experience everything else of been a photographer.
Which social media platforms do you use and why?
Well I used most of my time Instagram and Twitter because you engaged more with people, models and influences.
Which photographers do you mainly follow on social media?
There is so much amazing work of different photographers I appreciate the work of every photographer that I follow so just mentioning a few would be unfair to others photographers.
What are your thoughts on mobile photography versus DSLR / mirrorless?
I really haven’t giving any thoughts about this I think of you have a pretty good eyes for photography you can make beautiful pictures it doesn’t matter if you got a mobile camera, DSLR or mirrorless.
What’s your main go to camera, lenses and how did you make that choice?
My main camera is a 5D mark ii with a 50mm 1.4 sigma Art I really love shooting portraits especially moody ones so my next lens is gonna be a 35mm 1.4 to get more depth of field.
What is your dream location to shoot at?
For now I only got 4 locations I want to shoot at Iceland, Tokyo, Oregon & California but after I go to those locations I want travel all over the world.
Describe your favourite picture and how you captured it?
I really don’t have one because I really love every single picture I take yes maybe some will get more appreciation then the others but from my part I love them all I can see the struggles I past to create every single one of them & how much I’m getting better & better.
In three words how would you describe your photography?
Natural, authentic and storytelling.
How do you feelabout better quality cameras being put into smart phones?
With me it's good that the phones can now take pictures of good quality, not all the time we will be able to use our professional cameras so with me it’s fine.
What are your thoughts on expensive cameras? Do you think they createbetter images?
I really don’t think you need an expensive camera to create better images. But it’s not about the gear to make better images you need experiences, a creative mind and passion if you don’t have all 3 of those things you are just somebody with a camera.
